INTERN: PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT


UONGOZI Institute seeks to inspire leaders and promote the recognition
of the important role of leadership in sustainable development within
Africa.

Located in the President’s Office, United Republic of Tanzania, UONGOZI
Institute provides training to leaders from Tanzania and beyond,
organizes high-level policy forums and dialogues, and carries out
research on leadership and sustainable development.

Purpose:
Through its Internship Programme, UONGOZI Institute seeks to engage a
recent graduate in the Procurement Management Unit. The successful
candidate will assist in the day-to-day activities of the Department,
including receiving ordered items from suppliers, issuing store items to
users’ departments, maintaining the store and its supplies, and
updating the procurement register.

The successful candidate will gain and/or be exposed to:
Practical experience of the Procurement Act, 2011.
Government procurement policies & procedures.
Filing systems related to Procurement.
Stock-taking & auditing.

Database management skills.
Different computer software and programmes for performing procurement tasks.
Interpersonal skills.
Office practices and procedures.

Duration and Work Schedule:
The Intern will be provided with a three-month contract. Some assignments will require travel. Nafasi za kazi Uongozi Institute


Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supplies or any other related field.
Registration with Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Swahili.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and internet search tools.
Volunteer experience is preferred, although not required.

organizes high-level policy forums and dialogues, and carries out
research on leadership and sustainable development.

recent graduate in its Resource Center (RC) based in Dodoma, Tanzania.
The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day activities of the
RC including searching, selecting, cataloguing and classifying
resources, answering enquiries, registering new Members as well as
issuing and handling receipts for borrowing of books and other
resources.


The successful candidate will gain and/or be exposed to:
Contemporary leadership development trends and best practices.
Customer service to diverse clients.
Monitoring and evaluation of leadership resource centers.
Stock-taking.
Writing and communication skills.
Database management skills.
Different computer software and programmes for performing library tasks.
Interpersonal skills.
Office practices and procedures.
