INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIESThe Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) invites applicants for internship programme in various positions. The aim of internship programme is to expose interns to experimental learning by integrating knowledge and theory with practical application and skills development before entering into the employment market. The College has a social responsibility to train and provide internship services to graduating students as they prepare to enter the employment market. The internship programme at DUCE is open to Tanzanian graduates from recognised and reputable training institutions who have completed their studies within three years and are unemployed. Also, the programme provides an opportunity to any Tanzanian with Diploma and
Certificate to translate the skills learned from their institutions into practical on the job experience.
The Internship Programme for the academic year 2018/2019 is open to ten (10) positions as
follows:1. Internship Position: Education Officer II (4 posts)
Areas of Specialization
ο‚· English Language and Kiswahili (2)
ο‚· Book-Keeping and Commerce (1)
ο‚· French (1)(a)Qualifications and Experience:
Applicant must be a holder of BA/BSc degree in or with Education or childcare.(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Give instructions in ones specialised content subject
(ii) Prepare plan of work, course preparation, teaching aides, pupil
exercises, tests and examinations
(iii) Supervise school examinations
(iv) Keep and control all school resources
(v) Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities
(vi) Encourage, supervise, follow up on school attendance and report
(iii) Assist in undertaking special audit investigations and make sound suggestions to the one’s reporting office;
(iv) Ascertain replies to audit queries, arguments and proposals;
(v) Assist in preparing and implementation of annual Audit Plans of work;
(vi) Assist in evaluation of audit plans of work and recommend appropriate changes if necessary, according to the report on the evaluation of implementation of the
Audit Plan of work; and perform any other duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting office from time to time.Internship Position: Personal Secretary II (2 posts)DAR ES SALAAM UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATIONA Constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaamto the school management and parents/guardians
(vii) Care for the students’ welfare in and outside the classroom
(viii) Provide guidance and counselling services to students
(ix) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by relevant authority.2. Internship Position: Artisan II – Plumber (Waste Water), Electricity (2 posts)(a) Qualifications and Experience:
Applicant must be a holder of form
CSE and NVTA1 or Trade Test Grade III
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Perform routine specified tasks that demand higher technical skills under supervision.
(ii) Keep the work place tidy.
(iii) Collect and take care of working tools.
(iv) Carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
(v) Report maintenance problems to senior staff
(vi) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by relevant authority.3. Internship Position: Accountant II (1 post)(a) Qualifications and Experience:
Applicant must be a holder of a Degree in Accountancy or holder of B.Com with Professional Intermediate Stage (Module C and D) qualification or equivalent accounting qualification.(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Ensure all invoices are properly recorded and filed after payments;
(ii) Properly posting of all primary data in the respective journals
(iii) Cashiering;
(iv) Maintaining Petty Cash Journals;
(v) Preparation of various
(a) Qualifications and Experience: Applicant must be a holder of
CSE with four passes including credit passes in English or
Kiswahili and attained a typing speed of 50 wpm, Manuscript
and Tabulation II, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties I
and has 100/120 wpm shorthand or Certificate in Basic Computer Knowledge.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Type all general correspondence and nonconfidential matters
(ii) Type letters, minutes, notes, bulletins, circulars, certificates, charts and stencils
(iii) Duplicate reports, letter etc.
(iv) Take proper care of all machines under his/her charge and make sure they are used for official work only
(v) File copies of typed letter in relevant files
(vi) Receive and direct visitors
(vii) Make sure there are all necessary facilities for proper job performance
(viii) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by relevant authority.ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA
ο‚· Qualification/competency in the specified area;
ο‚· Applicant should be a Tanzanian Citizen,
ο‚· University Graduate, Holder of Diploma or Certificate,
ο‚· The applicant should be aged between 18-35 years old,MODE OF APLLICATION

(vi) Preparation of project account journals;
(vii) Preparation of Staff advances, loans and imprests subsidiary ledger listings; and
(viii) Perform any duties as may be assigned by relevant authority.4. Internship Position: Internal Auditor II (1 post)(a) Qualifications and Experience:Applicant must be a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or equivalent or Professional Intermediate stage or Module C and D.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Assist in auditing income and expenditure documents;
